Zamfara State has been in the throes of banditry and insecurity over the last few years due what many have come to know as banditry but which has been changed in nomenclature to Terrorism.

The State Government has put in place several measures ranging from amnesty to repentant bandits, money in return for surrendering arms, special military operations, deposition of collaborators including traditional rulers.

This attack may signal an upsurge following a recent lull in attacks attributed by many to incessant and sustained military and Security agencies operations around the Northwest in the last few weeks.

The State Government will now have to return to the drawing board to find new ways of addressing the issue which has defied solutions and has even led to the loss of an Alpha Jet belonging to the Nigerian Airforce.

The fighter Jet was shot down by fire from Anti Aircraft Guns by bandits/Terrorists.
