Bandits have displaced residents from over 40 communities in Kankara Local Government Area.

This displacement comes amid ongoing peace negotiations in parts of the state.

Out of an estimated 10,000 people who fled their homes, over 400 women, children, and heads of families are now seeking refuge at Nuhu Model Primary School and other available spaces within the local government headquarters.

TVC News has confirmed that a potential collapse of a recently signed peace deal led to this recent dislodgement of families from communities including Garage, Zango, Katikawa, and Mabai, among others.

The majority of the displaced persons trekked for hours to escape their troubled locations. Since arriving at the camp, no substantial assistance has been provided to them.

Nuhu Model Primary School is now at full capacity, with more families still arriving.

More details will be provided as the situation develops.
