The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has commenced a fresh nationwide electronic membership registration exercise as part of efforts to expand its support base and strengthen its digital operations ahead of future elections.

Addressing journalists at the party’s zonal headquarters in Awka on Friday, APGA National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, announced that the Continuous Electronic Membership Registration Exercise will begin on March 1, 2026, across all 8,809 electoral wards in the country and the Federal Capital Territory.

Opara said the initiative is designed to modernise the party’s membership database, enhance transparency and promote inclusivity.

“The All Progressives Grand Alliance is proud to announce the commencement of our Continuous Electronic Membership Registration Exercise. This nationwide initiative will begin on March 1, 2026, and will take place simultaneously across all 8,809 electoral wards in Nigeria.

“Existing members are expected to validate their membership, while new and intending members are encouraged to register and join the party. Participants must be 18 years or older and possess a valid NIN to complete the registration process,” he said.

He recalled that APGA had in June 2024 become the first political party in Nigeria to automate its membership registration process, describing the move as a demonstration of its commitment to reform.

“In June 2024, APGA became the first political party in Nigeria to automate its membership registration process. This pioneering step reflects our commitment to transparency, efficiency, and inclusivity—values that remain at the core of our party.

“The electronic registration exercise shall re-commence on March 1, 2026. All interested Nigerians are welcome to participate. Requirements are simple: a valid voter’s card and two passport photographs.

“Registration can be completed either online www.officialapga.ng
or through WhatsApp on 07055363333 or visit your designated ward to pick the registration form. New members will receive a Temporary Membership Slip, followed by a Permanent Membership Card,” Opara stated.

According to him, the e-registration process will digitise and update the party’s membership register, ensure record integrity, improve planning and management decisions, and deepen internal democracy.

He clarified that members who previously registered electronically are not required to re-register but advised those who have not uploaded passport photographs to update their records through the party’s website or WhatsApp platform.

Opara urged eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the exercise, stressing that APGA is positioning itself as a national political force rather than a regional platform.

“We invite all eligible Nigerians to seize this opportunity to join the APGA family and contribute to shaping the future of our great nation. Together, we move forward.

“We are hoping to cross the two million numerical strength, every party has regional colouration. APGA, by its Constitution, cannot be called a regional party.

“This is a party that has won election in Benue State, such a party cannot be called regional party anymore. It is important that political parties which share same ideologies come together. If you are coming together as a party, it must be with ideology, not to only come and remove the party in power,” he said.

The party maintained that the initiative forms part of its broader strategy to update its nationwide records, strengthen its grassroots presence and reposition itself in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
