In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke noted Mr. Disu’s firm commitment to duty, reflected in his years of service safeguarding Nigerians.

He expressed confidence that the new police chief’s respect for the rule of law would guide the Force in effectively discharging its constitutional mandate.

While expressing optimism in Mr. Disu’s extensive policing experience across the six geopolitical zones, the governor urged him to uphold professionalism and shield the Force from political influence and partisanship in order to restore public confidence.

“I rejoice with Mr. Olatunji Rilwan Disu on his appointment as Acting Inspector-General of Police by President Bola Tinubu. Mr. Disu is an outstanding professional who has devoted most of his life to the security of citizens,” the governor said.

He pledged his administration’s continued commitment to a safe and secure Osun, noting that beyond supporting conventional security agencies, the state has recruited over 1,500 personnel into the Amotekun Corps and provided additional support to complement the efforts of the Police and other security outfits.
