Abducted Zamfara Catholic Priest,  Rev. Fr. Suleiman Mikah begs for help

Armed bandits have released a short video of a Catholic priest, Suleiman Mikah who was abducted ten days ago in ZamfaraReverend Father Mikah who is the Parish Priest of St. Raymond Catholic Church Damba, Gusau was abducted at the Father’s rectory located within the church premises

The armed bandits had demanded thirty million naira ransom for his release before it was reduced to ten million naira after days of negotiations with family and relations

The clergyman in a nearly two minutes video clip released by the bandits which has gone rival on social media is calling for help to facilitate his release from the bandits den

In Hausa,Father Mikah says the bandits told him they can no longer keep him for more days.

“They are threatening to kill me, their leader said they don’t keep their victims for more than a week, once the ransom they demand is not given to them they will kill the person” Rev. Father Mikah said.

” I am the only person here and as you can see, I’m only putting on boxers, no trousers, no shoes and I have wounds on my head and legs”

“I’ve been chained by my abductors since I was brought here and it has not been easy here” He explained.

The Catholic Diocese of Sokoto under the Leadership of Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah has since condemned the incident and called on relevant authorities to rescue the victim unhurt.
