NAPTIP visits TVC, seeks sustained support to fight human trafficking

The Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, Julie Okah-Donli, has advised Nigerian youths to closely screen offers for job vacancies abroad, before accepting them.

She gave the admonition during a courtesy visit to TVC Communications in Lagos on Monday.

TVC New Correspondent, Ola Awakan reports that the courtesy visit by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons to TVC Communications was timely. This is happening at a time that the nation is worried about the sudden rise in the rate of Baby Factories.

NAPTIP has rescued more than 16000 victims of trafficking and some have been trained through Universities in Nigeria.

Director-General of NAPTIP, Julie Okah-Donli said the agency is planning to convene a national summit against the baby factory trend and rape.

Directors from the award-winning broadcast station assure the agency of sustained support in combating the incidences of Trafficking in the nation.

Collaborative efforts involving the media and other key players was identified as one way to stem the tide of human trafficking in the country.

The NAPTIP, TVC partnership is expected to nib the menace in the bud.
