Three people have been reportedly killed and many properties destroyed in an attack on foreigners, including Nigerians.
The attacks started Sunday in Johannesburg, with the burning of a building. The mob who set the fire also looted shops suspected to be owned by foreigners.
More than 50 shops are believed to have been destroyed, looted and burnt overnight, and this time around the Nigerian government is not taking things lightly.
The minister of information, Geoffrey Onyeama tweeted this, some five hours ago.
“Received sickening and depressing news of continued burning and looting of Nigerian shops and premises in hashtag South Africa, by mindless criminals with ineffective police protection. Enough is enough. We will take definite measures”.
