Hajj Commission pledges commitment to pilgrims’ safety

Related imageThe National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has reiterated its commitment to ensure Nigerians are safe during the 2019 hajj pilgrimage.

The assertion was made during its stakeholders meeting for the commencement of the Holy trip in Saudi Arabia.

Kareemah Salami reports that hajj is the last of the five pillars of Islam. It is made obligatory on every adult who is physically and financially fit to perform the religious rite.

Every year from 8th to 12th of Zulhijah the last month of the Islamic lunar calendar Muslims from all over the world converge on Mina to perform the hajj rite. More than 65,000 Nigerians will partake in this year’s hajj.

Acting Chairman, national hajj commission of Nigeria, Abdullahi Muktar-Mohammad said the reason for the pre-Arafat meeting is to ensure that all officials are fully ready to work.

Lagos state Amirul hajj, who was commended for his proactiveness affirmed that the state will always be ready to give it’s best at all times.

With more than 80 clerics, 300 medical personnel, and a multilingual ICT help desk team to serve pilgrims, NAHCON believes the 2019 hajj will be a success.
