Flood:Imo govt distributes relief materials to over 50 communities

More than 50 communities in Oguta and Ohaji Egbama Local council Areas displaced by the ravaging flood from Orashi River are receiving palliatives from Imo State Government.

The Deputy Governor during the distribution of relief materials assured the victims of the government’s readiness to attend to their immediate needs.

The GM/CEO of the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), Chief Charles Orie, who spoke at the outreach expressed sympathy for the tragic flooding incident in the communities.

He noted that the government would continue to stand with them to overcome the challenges they were facing, which he said had affected many other states.

He revealed that Governor Uzodimma, in his kindness, had released money and relief supplies, including bags of 50 kg of rice, mattresses, pillows, cooking supplies, water, and more.

The Governor insisted that every affected victim receive daily hot meals until they are able to return to their homes, according to Chief Charles Orie.

Other materials received included , vegetable oil, noodles, tomatoes, mattress, clothing and packaged drinking water.
