Image result for james falekeJames Faleke, the running mate to late Abubakar Audu in last year’s governorship election in Kogi, says he is devoting the rest of his political career to the people of the state.

He made the pledge when party leaders led supporters on a solidarity visit to his country home in Ekinrin-ade almost a year after the election and the sudden death of APC flagbearer, Abubakar Audu, whom many supporters believe won the race.

Notable faces in the National and state parliaments, former legislators, party chieftains at ward, council and state levels are in Faleke’s Omorewo Villa to appraise the situation and forge a common front.

They accused the APC leadership of subverting justice through its role in the unfortunate incident.

The leaders also disclosed plans to bring the people together under the umbrella of the Kogi People Progressives’ Club.

Emotions and thought provoking speeches flowed as Faleke’s supporters from the twenty-one councils and some members of the opposition party in the state recount the tortuous road to right the wrong caused by Audu’s death.

Many of them insisted their leader was killed in the twilight of his victory.

Humbled by the people’s support, Faleke, who represents Ikeja Federal Constituency of Lagos state in the House of Representatives, said he has resolved to fight the Kogites’ cause.

The gathering challenges the state governor, Yahaya Bello, to convey a stakeholders’ meeting that will heal wounds or risk a realignment of political forces that may signify the party’s end in the state.
