Konduga Blasts: UNICEF confirms three Children were used as suicide bombs

Image result for Konduga Blasts: UNICEF confirms three Children were used as suicide bombsThe United Nations Children Fund, has revealed that three children, two girls and a boy were used to detonate explosives that killed 30 people and injured 40 others in Konduga, Borno.

UNICEF’s representative in Nigeria, Peter Hawkins who condemned the the use of children appealed to those involved in the conflict to protect children at all times.

He also called on all parties to the conflict in the north-east to immediately cease all attacks and abide by their obligations under international humanitarian law.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Secretary-General has also condemned the attacks reiterating the solidarity of the UN with the people and Government of Nigeria.

The UN Humanitarian Coordinator, Edward Kallon also called for those responsible to be swiftly brought to justice.

Three bombers detonated their explosives outside a hall in Konduga, Borno state were watching a match on TV on Sunday evening. Konduga has been repeatedly targeted by suicide bombers
