The incessant cases of conflict in the northern part of the country is a major source of worry for many Nigerians.

But the most concerned are obviously those directly affected by the attacks and who suffer tragic losses.

Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom has urged political and traditional leaders to forge a common course of unity, peace and development in the State.

Benue State has been in the news due to clashes between herdsmen and farmers.

But that is not the only conflict it has had to contend with, community clashes between Tivs in the state and Jukuns in neighbouring Taraba state have also been rife in recent times.

At the burial of frontline politician Simeon Tarka better known as the son of one of the Middlebelt’s most respected father figures, J.S.Tarka, Gov Ortom used it as an opportunity to urge all leaders in Benue, both political leaders and community chiefs to consider a lasting solution to this issue

The Governor, Samuel Ortom charged those present to serve as peace ambassadors to the state.

The leaders agree that no sacrifice is too much to ensure that Benue people enjoy the dividends of good governance.
