Image result for Orji Uzor Kalu endorses Femi Gbajabiamila for Reps SpeakerFormer governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor Kalu has endorsed member of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, for speakership position of the 9th Assembly.

Kalu welcomed honourable Gbajabiamila and a delegation from his campaign organisation, to his home where he gave his support.

Correspondent Habidah Lawal reports that the choice of who ascends to the position of Speaker and Deputy Speaker in the 9th House of Representatives, still a subjecto f horse trading and intense lobbying by different parties.

The aspirations of both Femi Gbajabiamila and Idris Wase, got a boost, with support from the former Abia governor who is also a senator elect.
Orji Uzor kalu insisted that Mr Gbajabiamila was not a candidate of  the APC National Leader as being speculated by some sections in the country.

The former governor believed constitutional democracy requires that the majority party produces leaders of the assembly.

Mr Gbajabiamila for his part, said his visit was to solicit support, from the former governor, adding that his campaign team had gone round the country to achieve just that.

Many Nigerians said picking the leadership of the ninth National Assembly should go beyond party affiliation but should be predicated on the need to have qualified, experienced and highly cerebral lawmakers that will foster a good working relationship with the executive arm.
