Spaniard Enrique Lopez-Perez has confirmed his rating as the number one seed by emerging the winner of the 2016 Governor’s Cup Lagos Tennis Championship.
Lopez-Perez made it two wins in two tournaments as he defeated number two, Nigerian-French player, Calvin Hemery, in two straight sets to emerge champion.
Despite a spirited effort by Hemery to avenge compatriot, Gianni Mina’s loss to Lopez in the first leg, the Spanish triumphed 7-5.
But a rain delay in the second set when Hemery was leading 3 games to 2 appeared to help Lopez-Perez regain momentum to win 7-5.
