The Nigerian Communications Commission will begin the process of Subscriber Identification Module registration verification and compliance audit. Mobile telecommunications operators including MTN, Globacom, Airtel, 9Mobile and Ntel will be affected.
The telecommunications regulatory body said the exercise was to provide assurance on the integrity of its SIM registration database.
The Executive Vice Chairman, NCC Umar Danbatta said it is a continuation of the commissions’s consistent regulatory interventions to ensure a clean and credible SIM registration database.
