Consumers of power supply in Damaturu have called on relevant authorities to caution staff of Yola Electricity Distribution Company, (YEDC) over its high billing rate.
They lament that the billing method needs to be reviewed to accommodate the less-privileged because it has hindered economic activities and social life of the people.
Welding operators, cold water vendors are among major users of power and they complain about the high bills they are now forced to pay.
Some have described the new billing system adopted by the YEDC as frustrating and lamentable.
But Staff of the Yola Electricity Distribution Company give reasons why bills may be on the high side. A staff of the company said they go to people’s homes to do load assessment based on the gadgets that they have.
