Correspondent Owolabi Adenusi reports that  the four Internally displaced camps host 10,000 inhabitants, victims of communal clashes and attacks by herdsmen in Taraba State. They were in dire need of food before the Living Faith Church came to their aid with 295 bags of maize, rice, clothes, shoes, detergents and other items.

One of the IDPs’ camps, Ezekiel Barde, describes the gesture as coming at the right time because considering children were dying of hunger.

Some victims want more public spirited Nigerians to emulate the church.

President of the group worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo represented by pastor in charge of living faith in Taraba, Frank Enoch said the gesture is part of the church’s social responsibility to assist the less privileged, physically and spiritually.

The dream of the IDPs is to return to their ancestral homes and continue their livelihoods. They called on government to work towards this by providing adequate security against external attacks.
