INEC says supplementary election will hold in 13 affected states

Image result for INEC says supplementary election will hold in 13 affected statesThe Independent National Electoral Commission said supplementary polls for governorship and state constituencies will be conducted in states where the electoral process was inconclusive.

TVC NEWS Senior correspondent Femi Akande reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission still has so much to handle, especially with the supplementary elections.

But there are also legal actions hindering the commission from carrying out its constitutional duty of conducting elections in some states.

The commission has come under immense pressure and criticisms from different quarters. There have been peaceful protests by different interest groups against INEC’s conduct of the polls.

Indeed these are not the best times for the electoral umpire but INEC said it will act within the confines of the law.

Kano Rerun

Similarly, INEC in Kano State said it has reviewed the affected Polling Units scheduled for the Supplementary Election in the state on Saturday.

According to the Electoral body, the re-run will now take place in two hundred and seven Polling Units, seventy five Registered areas and two hundred and seventy nine voting Points, spread across twenty eight Local Government Areas.
