The House of Representatives has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to carry out a constituency delineation exercise, to ensure the sustenance of democracy.
The House says the call became necessary in view of the wide ranging disparities in the current arrangement, where some constituencies have populations as small as 120,000, with others having more than one million.
The lower chamber also wants INEC to address what it says is the imbalance occasioned by an increasing national population.
