Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has confirmed the killing of soldiers in Umunze, while also condemning the act.
Soludo in a press release by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime said the soldiers were ambushed on a routine patrol at Umunze by yet to be identified gunmen.
Soludo who condemn the cruel attack in the strongest terms related the attack to those who attacked Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and the rest, threatened there will be no hiding place for the criminals.
The Governor urged Anambra people to remain calm and law-abiding as the security agencies are on top of the situation.
A source said the incident happened in Umunze community, a suburban town located around the boundary of the state with Abia State.
The source said: the Military men were ambushed along while moving in their vehicle at Umunze, when the assailants struck along that Umunze -Umunneochi road around 1 pm.
He claimed that nobody saw any sign of the presence of those criminals, before the rain of gunshots permitted everywhere.
