Kwara state governor, AbdulFatah Ahmed has banned political street rallies and processions following recent series of political violence in the state.Ilorin, the state capital has witnessed series of political attacks, with both the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party trading accusations about the perpetrators of the violent acts.
In a state-wide broadcast to the people of the state on Tuesday, governor AbdulFatah Ahmed authorised the state police command to ensure full compliance to the ban on political street rallies and possession.
He said thuggery, vandalism and intimidation will no longer be allowed.
The governor enjoined the people of the state to go about their lawful duties as a joint task has been set up to forestall future reocurrence.
