A severe dust storm has hit a rural New South Wales town turning the sky dark red and causing power outages for residents in the area.
The dust storm occurred on Tuesday causing over 5,000 homes in the area to lose power outage.
Residents say although dust storms hit the area frequently, they have never been so intense
Apart from Barellan, the towns of Temora and Ariah Park were also affected
