The Besse community in Koko-Besse Local Government Area of Kebbi State has applauded Governor Nasir Idris for naming the immediate former Nigerian Permanent Representative to the UN, Professor Tijjani Mohammed Bande, as the new District Head of Besse.
Tijjani Muhammad-Bande was elected President of the United Nations General Assembly’s 74th session on June 4, 2019.
The community gave the commendation on Tuesday, when a high-powered delegation led by Alhaji Muhammadu Usman, Baraden Dutsinmari paid a thank-you visit to Governor Idris at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.
The delegation’s leader, Baraden Dutsinmari, expressed gratitude for giving final consent to bestow the title on Professor Tijjani Bande, demonstrating faith in Professor Bande’s ability as the new District Head of Besse.
The District Head of Dutsinmari praised Governor Nasir for his relentless effort in their constituency and also requesting the governor for more developmental projects in his domain particularly on education.
Responding, Govenror Nasir Idris also described Bande as a relative and friend, whose penchant and passion for the development of Kebbi State and Nigeria are unequaled.
While describing Bande as the right choice for the job, he added that the community and Kebbi State would not regret the action.
He also stated that his Government will address the dilapidated Koko-Besse, Zaria Kala Kala Road in the area among other projects.
