Nationwide protests: Cross River CP commend residents for peaceful, lawful conduct

The Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command, CP Grimah, has expressed deep gratitude to Cross River State residents for their peaceful and lawful conduct during the recent protests despite perceived threats of violence.

The Police commissioner urged all residents to continue their lawful activities without fear and to disregard any malicious, misleading, and unfounded information circulating for personal gain.

He emphasized the need of security awareness among the general public and encouraged them to report any suspicious activity or strange individuals in their neighborhoods to the police or other security organisations for fast action.

The CP on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force and Cross River State Command commended the the collective efforts and cooperation of the people of Cross River, traditional and religious institutions, hoteliers, market associations, transport unions, youth groups, student unions, the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), corporate bodies, other security agencies, media houses, the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), and the dedicated police personnel of the command.

He noted that the synergy and unwavering support recorded thus far are highly appreciated.

The CP also appreciated the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD NPM, the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 6 Headquarters, Calabar, AIG Jonathan Towuru mni, and His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, for their exceptional support and advisory roles at various levels.

He said the Cross River state police command remains resolute in its commitment to proactively discharge its functions in line with the principles of Equity, Fairness, and Justice, especially in the context of 21st-century policing practices.
