The Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos on Friday witnessed low passenger patronage following the nationwide protests which began on Thursday.
Ayomide Ajeigbe of TVC reported from the MMIA in Lagos that there were few passengers in the terminal and that flights were still arriving and departing from the local and international wings, indicating that normal commercial activity was still taking place.
The majority of the passengers refused to talk on camera, but a female passenger flying to Abuja indicated that she was unconcerned about the continuing protests because she had obtained a one-week leave of absence from her office.
The counters were bare since several airline employees did not arrive to work.
An Ibom Air Staff member, who spoke anonymously, stated that aside from the day the NLC went on strike on June 3rd, yesterday, August 1st, and today, have had the lowest patronage this year.
