In line with the federal government’s initiative to reduce the economic hardship on ordinary Nigerians, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu has distributed hundreds of rice bags under the Social Investment Programme of President Bola Tinubu’s administration in Bayelsa State.
Representatives from three 8 local government areas of Bayelsa State, religious groups, and persons with disabilities are present for the distribution of palliative to vulnerable households under the Renewed Hope Initiative of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
The initiative, meant to cushion the effects of the current economic hardship on low-income households is a welcome development for the beneficiaries who express gratitude to the federal government for the gesture.
Ensuring a fair distribution of the rice palliatives, the Wife of Bayelsa State Governor, Gloria Diri, says those most affected by the economic downturn at the grassroots were targeted across the state.
Although hundreds of families will be sustained by the relief distribution, more such gestures are solicited in the state.
