Senate Attributes Gwoza Attack To Intelligence Failure

The Nigerian Senate has Condemned in Strong Terms the Suicide Bomb Attack in Gwoza Community in Borno State.

The Upper legislative Chamber also urged the Federal Government to deploy the use of Modern Technology and Private Contractors to Combat insurgents in hot spots in Borno State.

The Senate’s Resolution comes from a motion of urgent public importance moved by the Chief Whip of the Senate , Senator Ali Ndume who also represents the affected area.

Citing order 41 and 51 of the Senate’s Standing orders , Senator Ali Ndume reports the  incident that struck Gwoza Community in Borno State on Saturday.

The Lawmaker says these Suicide Attacks on unsuspecting Citizens has raised fresh concerns about the security situation of the region which has been a flash point for Terrorist attacks over the years .

Other Lawmakers in their contributions also called on the Federal Government to explore other unconventional methods especially the use of modern technology to confront the insurgents.

The Senate also observed a Minute of Silence in honour of victims of the deadly attacks and fallen soldiers.

As an additional Prayer , the senate  urged the Federal Government to explore the use of private Contractors in securing the hotspots inhabited by the insurgents especially Lake Chad region , Mandara Mountains and Sambisa Forest.
