Supreme Court set to hear the suit filed by the federal government seeking full autonomy for the country’s 774 local governments.
At the last adjourned date a 7 member panel led by Justice Garba Lawal ordered governors who were represented by their state attorneys-general, to file their responses to the originating summons.
The federal government is also seeking an order of court preventing the governors from arbitrarily dissolving democratically elected councils.
