Police in Delta state have detained a 27-year-old disabled man who is said to be the boss of a kidnapping gang, along with two others who use tricycles to kidnap unsuspecting members of the public in Ughelli.

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Abaniwonda, who paraded the suspects, stated that his officers also detained a 24-year-old woman who reportedly killed her one-year-old kid.

The handicapped person is a suspect in kidnapping; he uses a commercial tricycle, along with the acts of three other members.

The victim, a middle-aged woman, identified them.

The IGP’s community policing strategy, which is yielding positive outcomes, was praised by the Commissioner of Police.

He explained how the kidnapping suspects were arrested.

A 24-year old lady is also in custody for killing her son.

Suspects who specialize in the sale of stolen autos are also paraded. Twelve stolen vehicles were recovered.

A father of three repackages various branded drinks with ethanol, water, and colorant to sell to the public.

The police commissioner says he has deployed a special unit to deal with the recent rise in herder attacks on farmers in Ika North East and Ika South municipalities, where two people have been slain.
