The Chief of Naval Staff arrived the Nigerian Navy Ship Pathfinder in Port Harcourt.

He provided an update on Operation Delta Sanity which he launched in January 2024.

The objective is to implement a Presidential directive to eradicate oil theft and ramp up production in line with efforts to plug leakages of resources and strengthen the economy.

The Navy says it is achieving successes through the clampdown in artisanal refineries in the Niger Delta.

For the Navy, there is need for a 90-day extension to sustain the gains recorded so far.

The Chief of Naval Staff also met with Governor Siminalayi Fubara at the Government House, where he received the state government’s assurance of support in the fight against crude oil theft and other maritime crimes.

Vice Admiral Ogalla announced that the Navy is moving the Headquarters of it training command to Eleme Local Government Area.

He thanked the state for making this possible through donations of two schools to the Navy.
