Benue govt to construct flyover bridges in Makurdi

The Benue State government has disclosed plans to construct two overpasses, popularly known as flyover bridges, in Makurdi, the state capital.

According to the governor’s spokesman, Tersoo Kula the State EXCO has directed the Ministry of Works, Housing and Urban Development, to carry out a feasibility study on the viability and suitability of the two overpasses, which are proposed to be constructed at both Wurukum and High Level roundabout, all in Makurdi, the state capital.

Good road networks reduce travel time, improves traffic speeds, and it’s Beneficial for local enterprises and the local economy.

To enjoy these benefits, the Benue State government has revealed its plan to construct two overpasses which are proposed to be constructed at both Wurukum and High Level roundabout.

The State Executive Council has also given approval for the construction of other key rural roads.

Additionally, the EXCO, according to CPS Kula, agreed with the establishment of the Benue Public Service Institute (BPSI), to serve as a training centre for Civil Servants in the state.

This, according to the EXCO, is to improve the deliverability of the civil servants and for optimal performance.

They commended Vice President Kashim Shettima, over his recent visit to the State to launch the first expanded National Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) clinic, a move they say, has already started yielding results, with a Fashion hub set to be established in the state within three months.
