The Executive Secretary, Zamfara State Directorate of Sports, Isiayaka James has reiterated Governor Dauda Lawal’s Commitment towards developing sporting activities in the state.
Isiayaka James stated this when members of the Zamfara state chapter of the Sports Writers Association SWAN paid him a courtesy call in his office, in Gusau the state Capital.
He added that the current administration in Zamfara is ever ready to support any group willing to join in the development of sporting activities at all levels.
” Zamfara state government under Governor Dauda Lawal will ensure that sporting activities is given the needed attention ” He said.
“With me at the herm of affairs in this organization, we shall reshape sporting activities in Zamfara and change the narrative” James added.
“I will give the sports writers Association in Zamfara the maximum support it need to forge ahead and excel in all its activities” Isiayaka assured.
Also in their separate remarks, the Director of sports, Nasiru Bakura and the Director planning in the directorate Shehu Aliyu Zurmi commend the Zamfara SWAN for doing their best in promoting sporting activities in the state
They also assured of harmonious working relationship with SWAN while calling on them to be fair in their reportage
The duo enjoined the sport writers to shun activities of enemies of progress especially as it regard sports in Zamfara noting that the doors of the directorate is always open for clarity on any unclear issues
Earlier, the Chairman Sports writers Association, SWAN Zamfara state, Rabiu Dabbakal and his vice, Theophilus Darofai, congratulated Isiayaka James on his well deserved appointment as the Executive Secretary, Zamfara state Directorate of sports.
The Zamfara SWAN Leaders enjoined the leadership of the directorate to always carry along the association in all its sporting activities within and outside the state
They also used the medium to announce the association plans to continue with its football competition tagged” SWAN MEDIA CUP ” which kick started in August this year.
The final match of the Tournament is expected to hold before the end of this
The football tournament is for all media organizations in Zamfara and is aimed at promoting sporting activities and also to strengthen love and unity among Journalists in Zamfara
Authorities of the Zamfara state Directorate of Sports promise to support SWAN in ensuring the success of the Tournament.
In attendance at the Courtesy visit includes the Secretary, Zamfara SWAN Daniel Kefas Dogon Yaro, his assistant Shehu Guga, The Association Treasurer, Adeniyi Saludeen, Ex-officio Abubakar Barrister and Aminu Mayanci among others.
