The petroleum industry’s Unions and associations are critical stakeholders in the sector and have been in existence for as long the discovery of oil.

They play a crucial role in the advancement of socio-economic development, making sure that government does the right thing.

The Petroleum Tanker Drivers under NUPENG led by Augustine Egbon, now says it will not condone any act of sabotage or move that will undermine the Federal government.

Union factions are a common sight not just in developing countries but in the developed world as well and these issues are sometimes driven by political or personal agenda.

The Petroleum Tanker Drivers are aware of diverse interests within their union and say any threat to their national body will invariably affect the sector.
