Minister of Information and National Orientation, Idris Mohammed, has declared open the 2023 AFRICAST, which is being organized by Nigeria’s Broadcast Industry Regulator, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).

The Premier Broadcast, Content, and Digital Entertainment Event, AFRICAST 2023, themed “Broadcast Content: Synergy, Finance, and Market,” is a gathering for media stakeholders to discuss the latest trends, innovations, and opportunities in the industry.

The Minister emphasised the importance of the broadcast industry in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic vision.

From Tuesday 24th to Thursday 26th October 2023, AFRICAST is the destination event where local and global industry players come to learn about and see the latest innovative technologies, services, and products, as well as how to access the market. It is hosted by NBC and other industry partners.

Charles Ebuebu, Director General of NBC, advocated for a robust viewership measurement system in order to increase advertising revenue and reduce reliance on big tech content monetisation.

The expanded “Content Village” will provide an opportunity for content creators, producers, and distributors to engage in practical interactions that will enable them to connect, show, and do business, emphasizing the 2023 AFRICAST special focus on all things content.
