Ohanaeze To Help Mediate To Stop Insecurity In South East

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has promised to deploy a non-kinetic approach in resolving security challenges in the Southeast region.

President-General of the Igbo apex sociocultural organisation, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, who disclosed this at a news conference in Enugu, appealed to people causing bloodshed to embrace peace.

Since the commencement of the Sit at Home order in South East Nigeria, the region said to have lost 105 out of 520 working days.

The development, economic experts queried to have consumed over 7.646 Trillion naira between August 2021 to July 2023.

Scores of lives, property lost including Federal infrastructure razed and economic activities deserted on Mondays.

A situation Most Igbo Leaders have expressed concern and the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide is determined to end the bloodshed.

He announced plans to convoke World Igbo Day Celebration in September, where he plans to reveal strategy to end insecurity In the sub region.

Ohaneze PG says has set up committees to honour Igbo leaders who contributed to the growth of the Old South East Region.

The Igbo leader appeals to federal government to assist the zone with construction of railway lines, creating seaports and allow international airlines to start using south East routes to ease businesses in the region.
