Again, Fmr Kano gov Shakarau calls for review of cost of governance

Former Governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shakarau has again called for the review of cost of Governance and the current political structure for Nigeria to attain her full fledged democratic system.

Ibrahim Shdkarau was speaking as a guest speaker at the 12th Annual Symposium of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria Zone -B held in Osogbo the Osun State Capital.

It’s the 12th annual symposium of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, MSSN.

In his lecture entitled, ‘Navigating Nigeria’s democracy through constructive review’, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau identified lack of true Federalism and inconsistency in government’s policies as major problems impeding the country’s progress.

The Former Kano governor who advocated a unicameral legislature to reduce the cost of Governance also appealed to Government to improve on the country’s electoral process.

The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mutiu Agboke says a conversion like this should be held periodically in other to hold political office holders accountable.

The symposium which had participants from 17 states of the southern Nigeria has as its theme ‘Reshaping the past for the future’.
