Police in Imo State have killed one and arrested two members of armed robbery gangs who invaded a gold store at Ikenegbu in Owerri, the state capital.
Parading the suspects at the Command’s Headquarters, the state PPRO said jewelries worth millions of naira allegedly stollen from the gold store were among the items recovered from the hoodlums.
About 1:30pm on Saturday, the Imo State Police Command said it received a distress call of a seven man armed robbery gang which invaded Gold wise jewelries, a popular gold store at Ikenegbu in Owerri.
Swiftly, police operatives in a gun duel killed one and arrested two of the criminals while others escaped with various decrees of gunshot injuries.
Among the items recovered include two pump action guns, Four locally made pistol, Eight rounds of live cartridges and one expanded cartridge. Other items are a white Hilux used for the operation, jewelries valued millions of naira, two military under polo, two special forces t-shirts, face mask among others.
