Police arrest 31 Year Old Bandit Kingpin, Bank Robbers in Zamfara

Police have once again arrested a thirty one year old bandit kingpin in Zamfara State.

The Suspect one Alhaji Bello is a terror, attacking Communities in Anka, Bukkuyum and Gummi Local Government areas

The three affected local governments are located within the western part of the state and have been Suffering attacks for many years

Parading the suspect, spokesperson of the command Superintendent Mohammed Shehu says the successes follows an intelligence reports that led to the arrest of the bandit Kingpin in his camp

Mohamed Shehu adds that the police Tactical Operatives while on Anti Banditry patrol acted on intelligence information of an attempt by a notorious Bandit’s group led by it’s leader, Alhaji Bello to attack communities in Anka and Bukkuyum Local Government Areas

He noted that the troops engaged the bandits in a gun battle, a situation the police says forced the bandits to flee with possible gunshot wounds, while the most wanted bandit in the Camp called Isiyaku Babangida was arrested

The bandit in police net is an indigene of Kabe Village in Kebbi State

The Suspect told the police that he and his gang members invaded several Communities in Anka, Bukkuyum, Gummi LGAs and have rustled unspecified number of cattle and kidnapped innocent persons and had to pay for ransom to gain their freedom

Two AK-47 Riffle, two Locally fabricated guns, two hundred and thirty six live ammunition were from the Suspects

In a related Development, the police also Arrested another syndicate that specializes in spying Persons transaction in the banks

The prime Suspect Usman Umar was arrested while his partner in crime Abdul Sun an indigene of Zaria Local Government in Kaduna state is at large

The Suspect according to the police attacked one Nura Umar Shinkafi staff of Zamfara State Investment Company Limited and broke the left side glass of his Peugeot 406 vehicle with registration number Abuja RSH 531 RD and cart away bag containing a HP Laptop Black in colour with serial number CND0515RPN, valued two hundred fifty thousand naira (N250,000), Zamfara State Investment I.D Card and cash sum of three million four hundred and seventy three thousand naira (N3,473,000).

“On 5th September, 2022, the Police detectives acted on intelligence information from the Situation Control Room in the Government House, Gusau and arrested the above named suspect” the Police said

“In the course of investigation, the suspect confessed that, they have a syndicate that specialises in monitoring customers who withdraw money in cash from banks or any financial transaction centres and follow them until the money was snatched at all cost” PPRO said

” Him and his syndicate members have on several occasion perpetrated similar crime in Borno, Bauchi, Kebbi and Sokoto States”. He noted

The police assures that effort is ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects.
