The importation into Nigeria, without clearance by the Nigeria Customs Service, of bullet proof vests, camouflage, and other military-related kits by the Kogi state government is to be investigated by the Senate.
Senator representing Kogi Central, Dino Melaye accused Governor Yahaya Bello of importing the military kitsvthrouhhba private jet, to arm some militia groups in the state in preparation for the 2019 general election.
The Senate referred the issue to its adhoc committee led by Senator James Manager which is set up to investigate allegations of brutality against senators in Kogi state.
