President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the purchase of patrol vessels for Nigeria’s Department of Fisheries to boost security in the country’s maritime environment.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo disclosed this at the Tenth Conference of the Ministers of the Fisheries Committee for the West Central Gulf of Guinea in Abuja.
Osinbajo says the vessels would be managed in collaboration with the Nigerian Navy and the establishment of the base is aimed at boosting security.
