The Independent National Electoral Commission has issued the Certificate of Return to Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state, for his victory in last Saturday’s governorship election.
INEC also used the opportunity to thank the people of Anambra for their peaceful conduct with the promise to have better outing in subsequent elections.
Delivering their charge to the two newly elected state leaders, INEC officials admonished residents not to be divided by the outcome of the just concluded governorship election.
The Resident Electoral Officer, Orji Nwackuwu maintained that Governor Willie Obiano’s electoral success should be a rallying point to bring others together in order to move Anambra state forward.
He also urged the governor to use his victory to improve the welfare of the masses.
In response, Governor Obiano promised not to fail Anambra citizens as he is determined to work harder in his second term to better the lives of the people.
Stakeholders of the winning party extolled the commission for restoring the hope of the people through the power of the ballot.
They solicited for a robust measure to correct some of the skirmishes recorded in the election.
