This, the Central Naval Command demonstrated at the launch of exercise “OCTOPUSGRIP” with air and sea patrols in Bayelsa and Delta States.

Correspondent Ovieteme George reports that the Onne Port in Rivers State was the take-off point of the Central Naval Command’s sea exercise code-named “OCTOPUSGRIP.”

Flagged off by the Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Abubakar Al-Hassan, “OCTOPUSGRIP” commenced with air patrols and four ships, including the largest called “NNS OKPABANA” manned by Captain Abdulrahman Mohammed.

The Navy manifested it’s presence on the waters of Bayelsa and Delta States, and even had time for Fleet Manoeuvres, Overboard Drills and Medical Evacuation.

The FOC is impressed with the three-day exercise at sea and the “OCTOPUSGRIP” will now move to the rivers of Bayelsa and Delta States in continuation of the exercise.
