Image result for Metuh's trial: Dasuki's testimony marred by incoherent speechFormer National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki appeared in court on Thursday in Abuja sounding incoherent as he answered questions in the ongoing case of former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh.

This caused a row between prosecution and defence counsel on whether he is mentally fit to appear in court and take questions or not.

The State Security Services on Wednesday produced the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki before the Federal high Court Abuja in line with the Court of Appeal’s order that summoned him to appear.

Dasuki entered the witness box but he was incoherent when asked questions by the Defence Counsel.

His Counsel pleaded for an adjournment to enable the former NSA refresh his mind on the allegation involving himself and the accused, Olisa Metuh.

But prosecution counsel, Sylvanus Tahir objected to such insisting that Dasuki has not been subjected to a serious test by the defence counsel to know whether he is mentally fit or not.

The Court adjourned till November 3 to deliver a ruling on whether Dasuki should be given time to refresh his mind or not.

Dasuki has been in the custody of the secret police without being released despite some court judgments that granted him bail.

The SSS said he still has multiple cases to answer on some activities during his tenure as Nigeria’s national security adviser.
