NPA boss expresses dissatisfaction with pace of work on Apapa-Wharf road

Image result for Apapa-Wharf roadThe Nigerian Ports Authority has given marching orders to engineers working on the dilapidated Apapa wharf road to ensure that repairs reach conclusion within the one year time-line.

The Managing Director of the Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala-Usman issued the directive during an on the spot assessment of ongoing repair work.

TVC News Correspondent, Ifunanya Eze reports that for residents and those who work in Apapa, accessing the port environment is a constant pain. The situation has been made worse with the ongoing rehabilitation of failed portions of the road.

Wharf Road in Apapa is currently closed to motorists because of repairs that will hopefully ease traffic congestion around the area when completed.

The management team of the NPA assessed the pace of work and concluded it was unsatisfactory.

Though, many challenges that are impeding the progress of the project were identified, the ports authority managing director still maintains that repairs will be completed within the one year time-line.

The NPA team also checked out failed roads at the Tincan Island axis.
