The National Orientation Agency, NOA has called for peace, unity and tolerance among Nigerians in light of the rising tensions in the country, caused by recent IPOB agitations.

Director General of NOA, Garba Abari, granted our team an exclusive interview in Abuja.

The IPOB agitation had in recently months steadily grew, causing tension and civil unrest across the country, until it came to a head with the Nigerian military moving into the South Eastern state of Abia.

The National Orientation Agency’s DG, Garba Abari is at this point calling on youths not to  allow themselves be used as instruments to fabricate trouble in the country.

Abari urges the media to continue to play it’s patriotic role ,to ease up all forms of tension across the country.

He sees the intolerance displayed by some youths to others not of the tribal, ethnic or religious persuasions as a fall out of a collapse in the nation’s value systems.

Abari further called on traditional and religious leaders to take up responsibility by preaching love, peace and tolerance and urged parents to caution their children and keep them away from mischief makers.
