Nigeria to adopt Malaysia’s method of water supply

Image result for Nigeria's water supplyNigeria’s minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu said government at all levels must increase budgetary allocation to the ministry of water resources so as to guarantee access to potable water nationwide.

The minister disclosed at the Opening ceremony of the 24th meeting of the National Council on Water in Akure, the Ondo state capital.

TVC’s Ayodeji Moradeyo reports that the meeting was attended by experts and Representatives from the ministry of water resources from different states across Nigeria.

The minister of water resources in his speech said Nigeria is understudying Malaysia’s approach to water supply.

Represented by the permanent Secretary in the ministry, Musa Ibrahim, the minister said poor leadership was responsible for the inability of different states to provide water for the people

The minister is of the opinion that implementation of past recommendations of the council will go a long way in solving the problem of acute water shortage

Other speakers at the event also stressed the need to provide water for the people .

It is hoped that the recommendations reached at the end of the council meeting will be fully implemented to ensure water is constantly made available to the people.
