Labour Party Adopts Seyi Makinde, as preferred candidate in Oyo

The leadership of Labour Party LP in Oyo state has declared that it is collapsing its structure to work for the second term bid of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state in the forthcoming Governorship election. 


Briefing the journalists at the event after the meeting with Labour Party members in the State, the party’s chairman in the state, stated that the decision was made following a comprehensive discussion with members of the party across the state’s 33 local government areas.

The chairman noted that the last Presidential election was keenly contested by the three major parties in the country and the result of the election as announced by INEC shows that Labour Party is a force to reckon with.

He said the score card presented by the present administration has shown that the governor is concerned about the well being of the populace.

 

OGUN IPAC DECLARE SUPPORT FOR DAPO ABIODUN AHEAD OF MARCH 11TH GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

 

The Ogun State chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has declared support for the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun in order to achieve his second term ambition.

The Chairman of IPAC, in the state Samson Okusanya made this known at a news conference in Abeokuta.

He explained that Governor Abiodun’s first term has brought tremendous development to all the zones of the State, through implementation of people’s-oriented projects, adding that the governor, being a disciplined and focused person, has through his words and actions facilitates peace and development to the state.

He said the residents should wait for better things in the state in the second term of Dapo Abiodun as he has laid a solid foundation in the first term.

 

OBSERVER GROUP URGES MR TINUBU TO INVEST IN YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

 

An Observer Group has released its own observations about the conduct of the Presidential Election.

ASQ Development & Training Nigeria believes Independent National Electoral Commission and other relevant Government Agencies  were able to surmount challenges encountered during the polls.

It is a period of claims and counter claims about just how credible the election was bearing in mind challenges encountered during its conduct.

On Wednesday, INEC announced the All Progressives Congress candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the winner of the presidential election.

Many observer groups have accepted its outcome while calling for adjustment and improvements to be made for future elections

ASQ is more  concerned about what direction the President elect will take the country.

It urges him  to pay adequate attention to sustainable Youth Development through Innovative and Vocational Skills.

Its Chief Executive Officer Samson Adeosun, acknowledges the shortcomings and flaws of the process, and the hurt this has caused across some divides.

But the Organisation, which is committed to accelerated nation building, says it has assessed the life and pedigree of the President-Elect and is convinced he is competent.

With the Governorship and state house of assembly election coming up on Saturday, March 11th, ASQ calls on all Nigerians, especially the Youth, to tow the line of Peace while charging INEC to do a self re-examination in order to remain credible.

 

OGUN GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION: PDP FORM ALLIANCE WITH NINE POLITICAL PARTIES

 

The Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State, has formed an alliance with nine other political parties in order to unseat the Governor, Dapo Abiodun who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the March 11th Governorship Election.

After the victory of the APC in the State during the President and National Assembly Elections, the PDP leadership in the state decided to get more support from other political parties in under to overpower the ruling party in the State.

 

While addressing party supporters and members of other nine political parties who have formed alliance with them, the Governorship candidate of the PDP, Ladi Adebutu said the move became imperative following the outcome of the last Saturday’s elections.

 

The Chairman of the Action Alliance who speaks on reasons why they agreed to team up with the PDP and support its candidate said they have established that the candidate of the party will provide good governance based on his track record.
