There are fears of a resurgence of Lassa fever in Ondo state with no fewer than five people reported to be infected already in Owo Local Government and Akoko North-West Local Government areas.
The Permanent Secretary in the state’s Ministry of Health, Dr. Taiwo Oni, who confirmed this development says government is doing its best to curtail the spread of the disease by isolating the patients.
He appealed to the people of the state to visit the nearest government hospitals whenever they have recurring fever.
