Image result for Zamfara ramadan fast feedingThe Zamfara state Government says it has spent more than N500m daily in feeding the less privileged, during this Ramadan season.

The state says this is in keeping with its resolve to help citizens deal with the effects of the economic downturn.

Ramadan Feeding in Zamfara state became an annual event since it was introduced with the entrenchment of Shari’a Law in 2001

Feeding centres are sited around the Gusau metropolis in order to easily provide food assistance to the less privileged and those in need.

The  current dwingling economy and recession in the country has brought untold hardship to the people, and many residents in Gusau see the establishment of these feeding centres across the city, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, as timely and appropriate.

The Zamfara state Government says it has expended more than Five Hundred Million Naira so far on the feeding programme with a monitoring committee put in place to ensure that qualitative food is served to the people.

About two hundred and fifty one centres has presently been set up by the Zamfara state Government across the seventeen Emirate councils in the state and each centre provides people with daily food.
