Security was heightened around the European Council this Thursday as U.S. President Donald Trump arrived for his first meeting with EU leaders.
Trump, with his secretaries of state and defense, Rex Tillerson and James Mattis respectively, held talks with European Council President Donald Tusk, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini.
Trump will later attend a summit of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation leaders and attend the inauguration of the military alliance’s headquarters in the city.
Brussels is the U.S. President’s fourth leg of his first foreign trip since taking office.
